There's a timely discussion going on the ILI listserv right now about entertaining ways to educate students about plagiarism. My plagiarism game is just about finished, unless I'm notified there are any other problems. I'm quite proud of my little earthquake and avalanche at the end.
I posted the link to my game on ILI and have gotten two requests for the Flash file of the plagiarism game, and another for the It's Alive! game, along with a friendly suggestion on one of the questions where my information isn't really correct.
Other interesting plagiarism materials posted in the discussion include:

Great job! The game is very thorough in what it covers, plus it's entertaining.
ReplyDeleteHi I'm really impressed by this but I keep getting stuck with the pinboard goblin in the library. What is the correct way to get those stikkies on the pinboard? I keep putting the "talk to your professor" one as a good idea but I just keep on getting the no resubmit function
ReplyDeleteGood idea: "talk to professor" and "not use it because it has already been submitted for credit"
ReplyDeleteBad idea: "use it because she's the original author" and "use it but change a few words"
I can't find the last goblin in the hallway. I got the one behind the poster, the cash register one... and that's it. Help!
ReplyDeleteIt's probably the one behind one of the little bags of coffee in the front lower corner. If you hover over them, when you get to the right one, the arrow will turn into a hand. Then click on it and the bag moves to see the goblin behind.
DeleteWhere is the goblin the last goblin in the first room?? AHH
ReplyDeleteDid you catch the blue one that is flying around? There is also one in the fridge, in the drawer under the bed, and behind the purple pillow.
ReplyDeleteHi! This is so amazing! I am teaching 5th-7th grade computers and would love to use this, but my conservative school would have nothing to do with the creepy goblins. Any chance of a version with more mild characters? Or, could I possibly use just the question and answer slides? This is truly an amazing game. You should sell it! Thanks for your hard work.
ReplyDeleteI think I have the questions in a Word document, somewhere. If you send me an email (broussm@lycoming.edu), I can send them to you. I do not plan on changing the characters, though at some point I will update the technology used when I have enough free time.
